FAQs about the solar extension cable 12m 6mm²

Why should I choose 6mm² instead of 4mm²?

For more yield and safety. Although 4mm² is often technically sufficient, 6mm² reduces the resistance. This results in less heat generation in the cable and higher voltage at the inverter. Especially with modules with high currents (13A and above), 6mm² is the technically superior option.

Do the connectors fit my inverter from Growatt or Victron?

Yes. The connectors used comply with the global MC4 standard. They fit perfectly mechanically and electrically to the connections of almost all standard solar modules, micro-inverters and charge controllers.

Can I shorten the cable if necessary?

Yes, with the right tool. You can cut the cable. However, please note that for the new connection you will need professional MC4 connectors and a special crimping tool to ensure a permanently secure connection.
