Solar cable red 100m 4mm² – SOLR4100 for professional PV installations
Description
Product information
The SOLR4100 solar cable (100 metres, 4mm²) in red is the ideal cable by the metre for extensive photovoltaic projects and professional installations. With a generous length of 100 metres on the roll, it offers maximum flexibility when cabling roof systems, ground-mounted projects or larger stand-alone systems. The red marking serves for clear identification of the positive pole (+), which greatly increases safety and clarity during installation.
The cable has been specially developed for the extreme demands of outdoor use. Thanks to the high-quality cross-section of 4mm² and the special double insulation, it is perfectly equipped to transport the energy produced by your solar modules safely and with minimal loss over decades.
Highlights at a glance
- High range: 100 metres in one piece allow individual cuts without unnecessary intermediate connections or waste.
- Clear polarity: The red outer sheath ensures clear marking of the positive conductor and prevents errors during installation.
- Robust double insulation: The cable features a flame-retardant and halogen-free sheath that provides optimum protection against mechanical stress.
- Weatherproof & extremely durable: Specially designed for permanent outdoor use – UV-resistant, ozone-resistant and resistant to acids and alkalis.
- Wide temperature range: Reliable operation in extreme weather conditions from -40°C to +90°C (maximum conductor temperature up to +120°C).
- Optimum conductivity: The finely stranded conductor made of tinned copper ensures permanently low transition resistances and offers effective corrosion protection.
Areas of application
The SOLR4100 is the first choice for versatile installation scenarios:
- Roof systems & PV parks
- Creation of individual string connections from module field to inverter or collection box.
- Off-grid systems & motorhomes
- Flexible wiring of off-grid systems where accurately fitting cable lengths are required for a neat installation.
- Plant construction
- Ideal base component for installers to assemble individual connecting cables with MC4 connectors.
Assembly & safety instructions
- Professional assembly
- Because this is cable by the metre without connectors, we recommend using high-quality MC4 connectors and professional crimping pliers for solar cables when connecting.
- Protection from rodents
- When laying in areas at risk from rodents (e.g. barns or soil) the cable should also be run inside a suitable protective conduit.
- Standard-compliant routing
- Ensure the cable is laid without tension and secured with UV-resistant cable ties to avoid chafe marks caused by wind movement.

FAQs about the solar cable red 100m 4mm²
Is the cable suitable for direct burial?
Conditionally. The cable is suitable for laying in pipes and ducts in the ground as long as it is ensured that it is not permanently lying in water. Direct laying in earth without a protective conduit is not recommended.
Can I also use this cable for 1500V systems?
Yes. As an H1Z2Z2-K certified cable, it is designed for a maximum system voltage of 1500V DC and thus meets the latest standards for photovoltaic installations.
Why is the conductor tinned?
To protect against corrosion. The tinning of the copper wires prevents oxidation of the copper, especially in damp environments or in contact with salty air. This guarantees consistently high conductivity over the entire lifetime of the system (25+ years).Properties
