NITECORE UMS4 Intelligent USB Fast Charger
Product information
The Nitecore UMS4 is a state-of-the-art, intelligent 4-bay USB charger that sets new standards for charging speed and information display. Thanks to support for Quick Charge (QC) 2.0 inputs, this device can achieve a total charging power of up to 4000 mA. It is compatible with almost all common battery types (Li-Ion, IMR, LiFePO4, NiMH/NiCd) and offers a high-resolution LCD display that gives you real-time information about the status of your energy storage. The UMS4 is the perfect choice for users who need a fast, flexible and transparent charging solution for various batteries.
Highlights at a glance
- Quick Charge 2.0 Support: Enables extremely fast charging times when using a QC power supply.
- High charging performance: Up to 3000 mA charging current on a single slot (in QC mode).
- LCD real-time display: Detailed info on charging current, voltage, charged capacity, internal resistance and battery health.
- Universal compatibility: Charges Li-Ion, IMR, LiFePO4 as well as NiMH and NiCd batteries of various sizes.
- IMR reactivation: Special programme for reviving deeply discharged IMR batteries (0V activation).
- Intelligent control: Automatic detection of the battery type and selection of the optimum charging method (CC, CV, -dV/dt).
High-speed charging with QC technology
When you connect the UMS4 to a QC 2.0 capable USB adapter, it shows its full potential. It can then deliver a maximum charging current of 3000 mA in a single slot or a total of 4000 mA distributed across all slots. This significantly reduces the waiting time until your batteries are ready for use. It also charges reliably on standard 5V/2A power adapters, albeit at a reduced speed.
Everything at a glance: The LCD display
The energy-saving LCD display is one of the most informative on the market. It not only shows the charging progress but also provides valuable diagnostic data: The current charging current, the battery voltage, the already charged capacity (mAh) and the charging time. Particularly useful for assessing older batteries is the display of the internal resistance and the health status ("Good" to "Poor").
Maximum safety and compatibility
The UMS4 is designed for safety. It features reverse polarity and short circuit protection as well as temperature monitoring that automatically reduces the charging current in case of overheating. The charger automatically detects the inserted battery type and selects the correct charging voltage (except for LiFePO4 and 3.8V Li-Ion, which must be set manually). Thanks to the long charging bays, protected 20700 and 21700 batteries also fit in easily.

FAQs about the Nitecore UMS4 charger
What is the difference between the UM4 and the UMS4?
The UMS4 (S = Speed) is the more powerful version. It supports higher charging currents (up to 3000mA per slot in QC mode) and has a lower internal resistance of the electronics for more efficient charging. The standard UM4 charges at a maximum of 1500mA per slot.
Do I need a special power supply?
The UMS4 works with any standard USB power supply (5V/2A). However, to be able to use the fast charging features and the maximum charging currents (3000mA), you must have a USB power supply that supports the Quick Charge (QC) 2.0 or 3.0 standard.
Can I charge LiFePO4 batteries?
Yes. However, the device does not detect these automatically (it would treat them as standard 4.2V Li-Ion, which can be dangerous). After inserting the LiFePO4 battery, you must manually switch the charging mode to 3.7V (final charging voltage) using the buttons.
Do protected 21700 batteries fit in the charger?
Yes, the bays of the UMS4 are designed long enough to accommodate the longer, protected 21700 batteries (often around 75mm long) used in many modern torches.
