Mascot Li-Ion charger 3546LI 12.6V 2.2A
Description
Product information
The Mascot 3546LI (12.6V) is an ultra-modern and efficient charger from the "Blueline" series, specially designed for 3-cell lithium-ion battery packs (3S, nominal voltage 10.8V/11.1V). With a charging current of 2.2 amps and a precise charging cut-off, it ensures a safe and fast full charge without stressing the sensitive lithium cells. Thanks to its medical approval (EN 60601-1 3rd edition) and compact design, it is the ideal choice for professional applications in medical technology and for high-quality industrial devices.
Highlights at a glance
- Optimised for Li-ion (3 cells): The charging characteristic is set precisely to the end-of-charge voltage of 12.6V to ensure maximum safety and performance for 3S batteries.
- Intelligent charge control: Utilises a 3-stage process (CC-CV cut-off) with current detection to end the charging process at exactly the right time.
- Medical certification: Meets the strict standards of EN 60601-1 (3.1 Ed) and EN 60601-1-2 (4th Ed) for use in the patient environment.
- Universal input: The wide-range input (90-264 VAC) enables worldwide operation; the mains cable or mains plug adapters are interchangeable.
- Versatile connections: Equipped with a flexible output (often snap-lock or hollow plug) that facilitates connection to a wide variety of battery sockets.
- Safety features: Comprehensive protection against reverse polarity, short circuits and charging battery packs with the wrong number of cells.
Precise charging technology for lithium cells
The Mascot 3546LI uses a charging characteristic that specifically protects the service life of lithium batteries:
- Constant current (CC): Charging with 2.2A (orange/yellow LED) until the cell voltage increases.
- Constant voltage (CV): The voltage is precisely maintained at 12.6V while the current slowly decreases until the battery is saturated.
- Charging end (Charge Complete): As soon as the current falls below a threshold value, the device switches off (0A) and the LED changes to green. There is no harmful continuous charging; however, the device monitors the voltage and restarts if necessary (restart at approx. 12.3V).
Ideal for medical and mobile devices
The combination of high efficiency, low weight (blueline housing) and medical safety makes this device perfect for mobile medical monitors, portable diagnostic devices, modern LED lights or measuring instruments that rely on lightweight lithium batteries.

FAQs about the Mascot 3546LI charger
Can I also use it to charge lead or NiMH batteries?
No. This charger is specifically designed for the voltage level (12.6V) and switch-off behaviour of lithium-ion batteries. Charging other chemistries can lead to overheating, incomplete charging or defects. Please use the corresponding Mascot "LA" (Lead Acid) or "NiMH" models.
What does the LED display mean?
Yellow/orange: The battery is charged with maximum current (main charge). Flashing yellow: The voltage has been reached, the battery is in the saturation phase (timer/CV). Green: The charging process is complete, the charging current is switched off. The battery is full.
What connections does the device have?
The 3546 model often has a modular design. On the input side, it usually has a 2-pin socket (IEC C8) for mains cables or interchangeable direct mains plug attachments. On the output side, the Mascot snap-lock system or a fixed cable with hollow plug (e.g. 2.1mm or 2.5mm) is often used. Please check the exact scope of delivery of your variant.
Which battery size is it suitable for?
With a charging current of 2.2A, the device is ideal for battery packs with a capacity of approx. 2 Ah to 20 Ah. Smaller batteries should tolerate a maximum charging current of more than 2.2A (check the data sheet of the cells).
