DC-X refers to the flexible output cable system with a snap-lock coupling. Instead of a permanently installed plug, various adapters (such as 3-pin XLR for wheelchairs, hollow plugs or crocodile clips) can simply be plugged in without the need for soldering.

Can I leave the charger permanently connected to the battery?

Yes, the Mascot 2840 is designed for continuous operation. As soon as the charging process is complete, the device switches to trickle charge mode (float, 13.7V). This equalises self-discharge and keeps the battery fresh without placing it under thermal stress.

For which battery capacities is it suitable?

Thanks to the high charging current of 8.5 amps, this device is ideal for 12V batteries with a capacity of between approx. 40 Ah and 200 Ah. Very small batteries (under 20 Ah) should be charged with a weaker charger to protect the cells.

What do the LED colours mean?
