Fuji Special CR8-LHC for Fuji Electric - 3V Lithium SPS battery
Description
Product information
The Fuji Special CR8-LHC is a high-capacity lithium buffer battery specially designed for the Fuji Electric Micrex-F and Micrex-SX PLC control series. This 3.0-volt power source secures the internal RAM memory.
The addition "LHC" (High Capacity) indicates a particularly high energy density. Compared to standard buffer batteries, this model offers an extended service life, significantly prolonging maintenance intervals in large industrial plants. It reliably protects your programmes, machine data and calibration values from loss in the event of power failure or system shutdown.
Highlights at a glance
- Specific for Fuji Electric: Perfect replacement for part numbers CR8-LHC, FBT020A or FBT030A (please compare plug).
- High Capacity (3000 mAh): With a capacity of about 3000 mAh this cell provides an extremely high energy reserve. This is especially important for older controllers or systems with long downtimes.
- Lithium technology: Uses lithium manganese dioxide (Li-MnO2) for a stable voltage of 3.0 V throughout the entire lifetime.
- Ready to install: The battery is supplied as an assembly, including cable and the specific white system connector (often with latch), exactly fitting the CPU board.
- Long lifetime: Thanks to extremely low self-discharge (< 1% per year) the battery can be stored for up to 10 years and often lasts 5+ years in operation.
- Industrial quality: The cylindrical steel housing protects against leakage and withstands typical vibrations in control cabinets.
Areas of application
This battery is primarily found in the following systems:
- Fuji Electric Micrex-F series: F30, F50, F55, F70, F80, F80H, F120, F120H.
- Fuji Electric Micrex-SX series: SPH, SPB.
- Various CNC controls: Based on Fuji hardware.
Installation & safety instructions
- Replacement under voltage: As with almost all PLC systems, the battery must be replaced while the controller is powered (Power ON) to avoid data loss.
- Observe alarm: The CPU usually indicates a weak battery with an LED (BATT or ALM). Do not delay replacement, as the remaining runtime is often just a few weeks.
- Plug check: There are various versions of Fuji batteries. Compare your old plug to the spare part. The CR8-LHC usually has a slightly larger, white plug compared to the smaller CR2-L versions.
- Reset: After installing the new battery, the battery error must often be cleared by a reset or restart (see CPU manual).

FAQs for Fuji CR8-LHC
What is the difference to CR6-L or CR2-L?
The difference is in the size and capacity.
- CR2-L: Small, short cell (often for compact CPUs).
- CR6-L: Medium size.
- CR8-LHC: Large cell (approx. 45mm long) with the highest capacity (3000mAh) for maximum buffer time. Mechanically, they often do not fit in the same holder, so the part number is crucial.
Can I recharge the battery?
No, absolutely not. This is a primary cell (disposable). Attempting to charge can cause an explosion or chemical leakage, which would destroy the expensive PLC board.
How long can I store the battery?
Thanks to lithium technology, you can easily store this battery for 10 years on the shelf (at room temperature). It is advisable to always keep a spare battery in stock so that you can react immediately in the event of an alarm.Properties
