Maximum safety through innovative construction

A special feature of the Fenix ARB-L18 series is the placement of the protection circuit (PCB) in the area of the anode (positive terminal). Unlike conventional batteries where the electronics are often located at the bottom, this design is significantly more resistant to drops and shocks. In addition, built-in pressure relief valves prevent gas build-up on the inside, which eliminates the risk of explosion in the event of extreme malfunctions or short circuits.

Does this battery fit every torch for 18650 batteries?

As this battery has an integrated protection circuit, it is at approx. 69 mm somewhat longer than an unprotected 18650 cell (65 mm). Please check before purchasing if the battery compartment of your device offers sufficient space for protected cells. Most modern quality torches are, however, designed for this.

Do I need a special charger?

Yes, you need a charger that is designed for lithium-ion batteries of size 18650 and works with a nominal voltage of 3.6V/3.7V (charge cut-off voltage 4.2V). We recommend the use of Fenix chargers (e.g. ARE series) or other high-quality brand chargers.

Can I use this battery instead of 2x CR123A batteries?

In most cases yes, as long as the torch is mechanically (diameter 18mm vs. 16mm) and electrically (voltage range) designed for it. Please note that a 18650 battery supplies 3.6V while two CR123A batteries together supply 6V. Most LED torches, however, can regulate this without any problems.

How should this battery be disposed of?

Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As a distributor of batteries we are obliged to take them back, and you as the end user are legally obliged to return them. You can hand in your old battery free of charge at municipal collection points or in stores.
