Does my grid operator accept the 16 kW Deye without additional devices?
Yes. The Deye SUN-16K complies with all relevant grid codes such as VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549, G99 and CEI 0-21. An official test certificate confirms compliance with the VDE standard, so no external NA protection is required. Commissioning is carried out as usual via your grid operator.
Which 48 V LiFePO₄ batteries are plug & play and are the charge/discharge currents sufficient?
The inverter supports numerous 48 V low-voltage batteries via RS485 or CAN. The manual lists specific profiles and dip-switch combinations for this purpose. Continuous currents of up to 350 A also make it possible to use large LiFePO₄ batteries, ideal for hybrid self-consumption systems.
Is the 16 kW inverter suitable for 13–18 kWp PV capacity and does it offer expansion capacity?
Absolutely. The inverter allows up to 30 kW DC input capacity, so an oversizing of around 190 % is possible. For PV arrays between 13 and 18 kWp, this results in an ideal DC/AC ratio of 0.8 to 1.1. Subsequent module expansion is also easily possible.
How loud is the 16 kW inverter?
The noise level is ≤ 60 dB(A); intelligent ventilation means operation is usually hardly audible.
Does the inverter support three-phase emergency power, import limiting and remote maintenance?
Yes. The Deye SM2 series supports three-phase emergency power operation, remote firmware updates and smart monitoring. An import limit of ~20 W is set ex works, which can be adjusted via Modbus for true zero feed-in.
