The Deye SE-F12 is a state-of-the-art low-voltage energy storage system (48V / 51.2V), designed for maximum reliability and performance in residential and commercial solar installations. Installation & safety instructions
- Transport and handling: With a weight of 84 kg the module is extremely heavy. Ensure you move it to the cellar or utility room with two people or suitable lifting equipment (e.g. stair climber).
- Temperature management: Although the storage operates over a wide range (-20°C to 55°C when discharging), for maximum lifetime and capacity yield it should be installed in a frost-free, dry room (15°C to 25°C). Charging below 0°C is blocked by the integrated BMS for safety reasons.
- Cable dimensioning: To transmit the enormous maximum continuous current of 230 A without voltage loss or dangerous heat generation, high-quality battery cables with a cross-section of at least 70 mm² (better 95 mm²) between the storage and busbar or inverter are indispensable.
- Compatibility: The system natively “speaks” the Deye protocol and works best plug & play with Deye low-voltage hybrid inverters (e.g. the SUN-10K or 12K-SG04LP3 series).

FAQs about the Deye SE-F12
Can I use this battery with an inverter from another brand?
Basically yes. The Deye SE-F12 uses common communication protocols (CAN/RS485) and can often also be operated with compatible third-party brands such as Victron, Solis or Growatt. However, the correct BMS protocol must be manually configured on the battery (via software or DIP switch).
What happens if there's a power outage at home?
If you combine the SE-F12 with a backup-capable hybrid inverter (such as the Deye SG04 series), the system switches to battery operation within milliseconds during a grid failure. Thanks to the high discharge performance (up to 11.5 kW from just one battery), you can continue to supply large three-phase loads in your home's electrical system without difficulty.
Why do some shops list "SE-F12-C"?
The suffix "-C" usually refers to the latest model revision (often the EU version), which is equipped with an integrated LCD display on the front of the casing. This allows cell voltages and SoC to be read directly. The pure performance data for the standard SE-F12 are identical.
