Hoymiles Connection cable BC05 to Schuko (5 m) - For HMS series
Description
Product information
The 5 metre Hoymiles BC05 to Schuko connection cable is the bestseller for most balcony power plant installations. With its medium length, it offers the perfect compromise between range and tidiness to connect modern microinverters of the Hoymiles HMS series (e.g. HMS-800W-2T) to the house grid without unnecessary cable clutter or tight voltages.
The cable connects the special Hoymiles "Field Connector" (BC05) directly to a standard earthed socket ("Plug & Play"). The high-quality, heavy-duty rubber hose cable (H07RN-F 3G1.5) is extremely resistant to UV radiation, moisture and mechanical stress, which guarantees safe operation over many years in outdoor areas.
Highlights at a glance
- Perfect fit: Specially designed for Hoymiles microinverters of the HMS series (e.g. HMS-600, HMS-800, HMS-1600) with the typical BC05 connector.
- Ideal length (5 metres): The standard for balconies and terraces – long enough for flexible installation, but short enough to avoid large cable tangles.
- Simple installation: Connects the inverter directly and without additional adapters or electricians to an outdoor socket.
- High-quality rubber cable: The H07RN-F 3G1.5 mm² cable is extremely robust, oil-resistant, and weatherproof for permanent outdoor use.
- High protection class: The inverter BC05 plug is waterproof (IP68), the Schuko plug is splash-proof (IP44).
- High load capacity: Designed for 230 V and 16 A, the cable effortlessly carries the power of larger HMS inverters (up to 2000W).
Areas of application
The 5-metre version covers the most common scenarios:
- Standard balcony: The inverter hangs on the railing, the socket is on the house wall (typical distance approx. 3–4 metres of cable run).
- Terrace systems: To bridge the gap from the raised module in the garden to the patio door.
- Garage installation: Connection from the flat roof through a ventilation grille or a hole to the socket in the garage.
Assembly & Safety Instructions
- Snap in: The BC05 plug must be pressed firmly onto the inverter until a distinct "click" is heard. Only then is the connection sealed.
- Disassembly: To disconnect the plug, the Hoymiles unlocking tool ("Disconnect Tool") is mandatory. Never attempt with force or pliers, as this may damage the housing.
- Compatibility: This cable does not fit the older HM series (Betteri BC01 connector). The BC05 plug is flatter and more rectangular.
- Laying: Avoid trip hazards. Excess cable should be fixed in soft loops (not tightly bent) with cable ties to the frame or railing.

FAQs about the Hoymiles BC05 cable (5m)
What is the difference between HM and HMS series?
The HM series uses the round Betteri BC01 connector with screw thread. The newer HMS series uses the proprietary Hoymiles BC05 "Field Connector" (rectangular, snaps in). The cables are not interchangeable.
Can the cable lie in the rain?
Yes. The cable material H07RN-F is designed for permanent use outdoors in rain, snow and sun. The BC05 plug on the inverter is waterproof (IP68). Only the Schuko plug on the wall should be protected from direct water jets (IP44).
Is the cross-section of 1.5 mm² sufficient at a length of 5 metres?
Yes, absolutely. For the power of a balcony power plant (max. 800W or even up to 2000W), a cross-section of 1.5 mm² is perfectly adequate. The voltage drop over 5 metres is negligibly small.Reviews 0
