What is the difference to the YBX3012?

The YBX5012 belongs to the "Silver High Performance" series (YBX5000), while the YBX3012 belongs to the "Standard" series (YBX3000). The YBX5012 generally offers slightly more capacity (54 Ah vs. 50 Ah) and often higher starting currents as well as a longer designed service life (approx. 50,000 starts vs. 30,000 starts).

Will this battery fit in my car?

The YBX5012 has dimensions 207 x 175 x 190 mm. This is the so-called L1 case. If your old battery is approx. 21 cm long and 19 cm high and has the positive terminal on the right, this is the correct model. Note: There is also a flatter version (175 mm high, type LB1), for which you would need a different model. Please measure the height.

Is the battery suitable for Start-Stop?

No. The YBX5012 is a conventional starter battery. It must not be used in vehicles with start-stop systems as it cannot withstand the loads involved. For this you will need an EFB battery (e.g. YBX7012).

What does the "Magic Eye" mean?

The "Magic Eye" is an indicator on the lid of the battery. Green means "Charged / OK". Black means "Charging required". White or clear usually signals "acid level low / defective", which often requires replacement
