What is the difference to the YBX3096?

The YBX5096 ("Silver Series") is the premium version of the YBX3096 ("Black Series"). Although both often offer 80 Ah, the YBX5096 is designed for a longer service life (approx. 50,000 starts vs. 30,000 starts) and a slightly higher and more stable starting performance. For vehicles you want to drive for longer, the extra cost for the 5000 series is worthwhile.

Will this battery fit my vehicle?

The dimensions are 278 x 175 x 190 mm. This is an absolute standard size (L3). If your old battery is approx. 28 cm long and 19 cm high, the YBX5096 fits mechanically perfectly and often offers a performance plus compared to the factory battery.

Is the battery suitable for start-stop?

No. The YBX5096 is a conventional starter battery. Vehicles with start-stop must use an AGM or EFB battery. A normal wet-cell battery such as the YBX5096 would fail within a few months in a start-stop vehicle.

Do I need to register the battery?

For modern vehicles with battery management system (BMS), yes. If you change from a weaker battery (e.g. 70 Ah) to this powerful 80 Ah battery, you should inform the vehicle of the new capacity so that the alternator can fully charge the battery.
