Batterytester Smart Adapter for Panasonic Premium Luxe 26V & 36V
Description
Product information
This specialised Smart Adapter is the link between your professional battery tester and e-bike batteries from the Panasonic Premium and Luxe systems. It supports both the 26V and 36V versions of this widespread drive generation (frequently installed in Flyer, KTM and Kalkhoff e-bikes). As these batteries have a battery management system that blocks the flow of current without the appropriate signal, this adapter enables the necessary communication to release the battery for precise capacity measurement.
Highlights at a glance
- Dual compatibility: Suitable for Panasonic Premium, Luxe and DeLuxe battery systems in both 26V and 36V variants.
- BMS activation: Simulates the communication of the e-bike to "wake up" the battery and enable the discharge output for the test.
- Precisely fitting connection: Features the specific connector that fits mechanically and electrically exactly onto the contacts of the Panasonic Premium batteries.
- Professional diagnostics: Enables dealers and workshops to create reliable condition reports (SoH) for customer batteries.
- Robust workshop quality: High-quality cabling and strain-relieved connectors guarantee a long service life in daily service use.
- Easy application: Plug & Play – connect the adapter to the test device and the battery, the system recognises the connection.
Precise analysis for Panasonic Premium batteries
The Panasonic "Premium" and "Luxe" batteries (often recognisable by their design behind the seat tube or on the down tube) require a specific signal in order to deliver current. A simple multimeter or a direct load is often not sufficient. This Smart Adapter ensures that the battery management system (BMS) enables the output. Only in this way can your battery tester record a realistic discharge curve and determine the actual remaining capacity.
Indispensable for Flyer and KTM Service
As Panasonic systems have been the market leader for premium e-bikes (especially Flyer C-series, T-series etc.) for years, these batteries are ubiquitous in routine service. With this adapter, you are able to make well-founded statements about the condition of used batteries, whether for resale or for processing complaints.

FAQs about the Smart Adapter for Panasonic Premium
How can I recognise a Panasonic "Premium" battery?
Panasonic Premium batteries often differ from the older "standard" systems (only 26V) by the display and the charge level indicator directly on the battery (push button with 5 LEDs) as well as the slightly wider design of the contact rail. This adapter is specially designed for this newer generation (Premium/Luxe).
Does the adapter also work for the Panasonic mid-motor 36V "Next Generation"?
No. The Panasonic "Next Generation" (often a downtube battery) uses a completely different connector system and communication protocol. For this type of battery, you need a different, specific adapter. This one is for previous drive generations (Premium/Luxe).
Can I charge the battery via the adapter?
The adapter is primarily intended to allow current flow from the battery into the test device (discharge/capacity test). Charging is usually most efficient via the original Panasonic charger, even though some testers could theoretically charge via the adapter (depending on the pin assignment of the tester).
Why is there no current when I only connect clamps?
Panasonic batteries for safety reasons switch off the output when they are not fitted to the bike. A resistance or data signal must be present to open the BMS. This is precisely the function that the Smart Adapter performs automatically.
