Flexible and standard-compliant escape route marking

This pictogram set is an essential accessory for electrical installers and facility managers. It allows the escape direction to be flexibly and definitively determined directly during the installation of the luminaire. Instead of having to stock different luminaires for each direction, this set offers a universal solution. The blank foil is used to cover one side of a double-sided luminaire when it is installed at the end of an escape route or on a wall and should only point in one direction.

Why do I need a separate pictogram set?

A separate set offers maximum flexibility on site. The final direction of the escape routes is often only clear during installation. With this set, the installer can individually adapt each luminaire to the circumstances without having to carry different luminaire variants with fixed printed pictograms.

What is the blank film used for?

Escape sign luminaires are often designed for dual-sided display (e.g. for installation in the centre of a corridor). However, if such a luminaire is installed on a wall or at the end of an escape route, the pictogram must only be visible in one direction. The white, opaque blank film is stuck to the side not required to cover it and avoid misinterpretation in an emergency.

Do the pictograms comply with current regulations?

Yes, all included pictograms are based on the internationally harmonised ISO 7010 standard. These symbols are standardised throughout Europe (and beyond) to ensure intuitive and language-independent understandability of escape guidance.

How do I correctly apply the films?

For optimum adhesion and appearance, the pictogram panel of the luminaire should be clean, dry and free from grease prior to application. Peel the film from the backing, position it carefully on the panel and smooth from the centre outwards to avoid air bubbles.
