The Mascot 9541 operates with efficient switched-mode power supply technology. The charging process takes place in three phases:

2. Constant voltage (Timer): The voltage is kept at 14.7V while the current drops. A timer ensures that this phase lasts long enough to fully convert the lead crystals.
3. Trickle charge (Float): Lowering the voltage to 13.7V. The battery can remain permanently connected (UPS operation, emergency generators).

What does "X2" or "2 outputs" mean?

The 9541 model is often designed as a "dual charger." That means it has two independent charging outputs. You can either charge two 12V batteries at the same time (each with a maximum of 25A) or bridge the outputs (parallel operation) to charge a single large battery with the full 50A.

Is the device waterproof?

No, the 9541 has the IP20 rating. It is designed for dry indoor use, control cabinets or installation in vehicles/boats (in a protected position). It is not protected against water like the encapsulated IP67 models.

When charging currents of this magnitude are involved, it is highly recommended to use the temperature sensor. It is attached to the battery and reports the battery temperature to the charger so that the charging voltage can be finely adjusted.
