The Mascot 2044 uses a proven 3-stage charging process to optimally supply 48V battery packs. First, the battery is charged with constant current (cycle). As soon as the final charging voltage is reached, a timer keeps the voltage constant to achieve full saturation of the cells. Finally, the device switches to a maintenance charge (float), which keeps the battery permanently at 100% without overcharging and prevents sulphation.

Which battery types is the charger suitable for?

The Mascot 2044-48 is suitable for all types of 48V lead-acid batteries. These include classic lead-acid wet batteries, maintenance-free AGM batteries (fleece), and gel batteries. It is not suitable for lithium-ion batteries.

What do the colours of the LED display mean?

Orange: The battery is being charged with constant current (main charge). Yellow: The final charging voltage has been reached, the timer is running (saturation phase). Green: The charging process is complete, the device is in float charging mode.

Can I leave the charger connected permanently?

Yes, this is easily possible. After completion of the main charging, the device automatically switches to the float charging mode. In this mode, the self-discharge of the battery is compensated, without overcharging or damaging it.

What battery size can I charge with it?

With a charging current of 0.9 A, this device is ideal for small to medium 48V battery packs with a capacity of about 4 Ah to 20 Ah. With larger batteries the charging time increases accordingly.
