Tool battery for Makita 9.6V stick battery (NiMH, 2000 mAh) - Replaces type 9000 / 9002
Description
Product information
This NiMH replacement battery is the suitable replacement for the legendary 9000 series of Makita batteries. This is the classic 9.6 volt stick battery (stick), which is inserted completely into the handle of the machine. This design was standard at Makita in the 80s and 90s. With 2,000 mAh (2.0 Ah) this battery offers a much higher performance compared to the original NiCd batteries (usually 1.3 Ah), which gives your old machines such as the 6095D plenty of power and endurance again.
Highlights at a Glance
- Classic stick shape: The battery is a long cylinder (“stick”) that is inserted into the handle. It is not to be confused with the block batteries that attach under the handle.
- Performance upgrade (2.0 Ah): With 2000 mAh you get significantly more runtime than with the old original batteries. Ideal for making old but mechanically flawless tools productive again.
- 100% Compatible: Directly replaces original Makita numbers 9000, 9001, 9002, 9033 as well as 9034 and 191681-2. Reference numbers also include 108540 or P 513.
- Modern NiMH technology: No memory effect. Unlike the old NiCd technology, you can charge this battery at any time. It is also more environmentally friendly (cadmium-free).
- Precision fit: Has the exact dimensions and contacts to snap securely into the bay of compatible 9.6V machines.

FAQs about the Makita 9.6V Stick Battery
Caution, risk of confusion: Stick or Block?
With Makita 9.6V there are two systems that are not compatible:
- Stick battery (this article): Disappears inside the handle. (Type 9000/9002).
- Block battery: Hangs as a block below the handle (type 9100/9120/PA09). Please check before buying: Do you have to insert the battery in the handle (then this fits) or click it underneath?
Can I continue to use my old charger (DC9700 / DC9100)?
Yes, generally yes. The old Makita chargers for stick batteries are very robust. However, as this battery has more capacity (2.0 Ah instead of 1.3 Ah), the charging time will be longer accordingly.
My old battery was yellow/red (NiCd). Will this black (NiMH) one fit?
Yes. The colour and the chemistry (NiCd) of the old batteries are irrelevant for the fit. Your device will often work even better with the modern NiMH battery as the voltage remains more stable.
