Tool battery for Makita 7.2V rod battery (NiMH, 3000 mAh) - High-Power for 7000/7002
Description
Product information
This NiMH high-performance battery is the most powerful expansion stage for your classic Makita 7.2 Volt bar tools. While the previous version with 2.0 Ah was already an improvement, this model with a full 3,000 mAh (3.0 Ah) offers the absolute maximum capacity technically possible in this compact bar housing. It replaces the old Makita stick batteries (type 7000, 7002, 7033 etc.) and gives your old cordless screwdriver more than twice as much runtime as the original NiCd batteries did back then.
Highlights at a glance
- Maximum capacity (3.0 Ah): With 3000 mAh, this battery is a true powerhouse. It is ideal for professional users or long projects where you do not want to keep changing the battery. This is the ultimate upgrade for the Makita 6010D series.
- Modern NiMH technology: No memory effect. You can recharge the battery at any time. Compared to NiCd it is more environmentally friendly (no heavy metal cadmium) and offers a higher energy density.
- 100% perfect fit (stick shape): Despite the high performance, the battery has exactly the same dimensions as the original. It is pushed completely into the machine's handle ("Stick Battery").
- Replaces all 7.2V sticks: Compatible with Makita original numbers 7000, 7001, 7002, 7033, 191679-9, 632002-4 and 632003-2.
- High current-resistant cells: To ensure that the high capacity can also be converted into power, cycle-resistant cells are used that deliver stable voltage even under load.

FAQs about Makita 7.2V 3.0Ah battery
Is the battery bigger than my old one because it has 3000 mAh?
No.
The external dimensions are identical because standardised Sub-C cells are used. The difference lies in the density of the chemistry inside. It fits just as well in the handle as your old 1.2 Ah battery.
Does charging take longer?
Yes, significantly.
Because the "tank" (3.0 Ah) is more than twice as large as before (1.2 Ah), your old charger also takes more than twice as long to fully charge it. Example: If your old charger required 1 hour for the original battery, it will take about 2.5 hours for this battery.
My original charger gets very warm. Is that normal?
With such large batteries, yes.
The old Makita chargers (e.g. DC7020) are simple constructions. Due to the long charging time at 3.0 Ah, they can get warmer than before. Make sure that the charger is free-standing and ventilated. Remove the battery as soon as it is warm (a sign of "full" for NiMH).
