Tool battery for Bosch 24V (NiMH, 3000 mAh) - Replaces BAT019 / BAT021
Description
Product information
This NiMH replacement battery is a powerful upgrade for the heavy 24 volt Bosch hammer drills of the older generation. While the original batteries were often still based on NiCd technology and had lower capacities, this modern nickel metal hydride battery delivers a strong 3,000 mAh (3.0 Ah). What that means for you: Significantly longer run times for chiselling and drilling in concrete, without the annoying memory effect.
Highlights at a glance
- Enormous power reserve: With 3.0 Ah capacity, this battery easily outperforms many old originals (often only 1.7 Ah or 2.0 Ah). Your hammer drill (e.g. GBH 24 VRE) lasts longer on the construction site.
- Wide compatibility: Replaces a huge list of original part numbers from Bosch (BAT019, BAT021, 2607335082...) as well as models from Ridgid (34131) and Würth (WA 24V).
- 100% perfect fit: This battery is a large block (slide-on battery) that fits precisely in the mount of the heavy 24V machines.
- No memory effect: Thanks to NiMH technology, you can recharge the battery in between without losing capacity.
- Robust construction: At 1.56 kg weight, it matches the solid build required for the balance of heavy hammer drills.

FAQs about the Bosch 24V NiMH battery
Can I continue to use my old charger?
Yes, in almost all cases. The large Bosch chargers for this 24V series (e.g. AL 2425 DV, AL 2450 DV or AL 2498 FC) are generally designed for NiCd and NiMH. Check the charger's rating plate. Because this battery has 3.0 Ah, charging may take a bit longer than with the old 1.7 Ah battery, but it charges fully.
My old battery was a NiCd. Is switching to NiMH a problem?
No, it's actually an advantage. The machine (the motor) is fully compatible with NiMH technology. The battery delivers the same voltage (24V), but in a more stable and longer-lasting way. NiMH is also more environmentally friendly (no toxic cadmium).
Why is the battery so heavy?
That's down to the physics of 24 volts. To achieve this high voltage with NiMH cells, 20 individual cells are built inside (20 x 1.2V = 24V). That totals over 1.5 kg. But the weight also helps dampen the recoil of the hammer drill during impact drilling.
