FAQs about the Bosch 9.6V NiMH battery

My old battery was yellow/black (NiCd). Will this one fit?

Yes. The colour of the housing or the old cells does not matter. As long as your device has 9.6V and uses the plug connector (BAT001 design), this battery will fit. The modern NiMH technology is compatible with the machine.

Do I need a special charger?

Mostly not. The standard chargers of this Bosch generation (e.g. AL 60 DV, AL 12 FC) are often multichemistry chargers (NiCd & NiMH). Check the label on your charger. If it only says "NiCd", it may be that the battery does not become fully charged or gets warm – in this case you should supervise charging or consider a universal charger.

What are the benefits of upgrading to 2000 mAh?

The ampere-hours (mAh) stand for the "tank capacity". An old 1200 mAh battery would run out after approx. 150 screws. This 2000 mAh battery can perhaps manage 250 screws under the same conditions. You work more efficiently and with fewer interruptions.
