The Saft LSH 20 is a high-performance 3.6-volt lithium primary battery in size D (mono), which was developed for professional and industrial applications with high energy and power requirements. Based on lithium thionyl chloride technology (Li-SOCl2), it is specially optimised for applications that require both a long service life and the ability to deliver high current pulses. This variant is pre-configured with axial wire leads for direct and secure PCB mounting.

What is the difference between the LSH and LS series from Saft?

Both series are based on Li-SOCl2 technology. The LSH series (high drain, e.g., LSH 20) is optimised for applications with high current requirements (high pulse and continuous currents). The LS series (low drain, e.g., LS 33600) is designed for applications with very low continuous current over an extremely long period (up to 20 years), such as pure backup buffering.

What does "axial leads" mean?

Axial leads are connecting wires that are routed centrally from the two flat ends (terminals) of the cylindrical cell, i.e., along the longitudinal axis of the battery. This configuration is ideal for horizontal mounting and threading the wires through holes in a printed circuit board (through-hole technology, THT).

Is this battery rechargeable?

No, under no circumstances. This is a lithium primary battery. It must not be attempted to recharge it under any circumstances. Attempts to charge are extremely dangerous and can lead to fire or explosion of the cell.

How should this battery be disposed of?

Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As an industrial battery, it is subject to the provisions of the Battery Act. Please hand in the empty battery to the designated industrial or municipal take-back points to ensure proper and environmentally sound recycling.
