The Yuasa YBX5063 is a high-quality 12V starter battery from the YBX5000 Silver High Performance SMF series. It was specially developed for vehicles that require a compact battery with a reduced height (175 mm). With a capacity of 50 Ah and a powerful cold start current of 520 A (EN), it delivers up to 35% more starting power than standard batteries, making it ideal for use in winter or for many short journeys. It replaces the older DIN type 50013. Thanks to the sealed double lid technology, it is 100% maintenance-free and designed for a service life of approx. 50,000 starts.

If you accidentally buy a 190 mm high standard battery here, you often won't be able to close the bonnet or tighten the retaining bracket.

What is the difference to the YBX5012?

Both batteries are the same length (207 mm) and width (175 mm). The crucial difference is the height: the YBX5012 is 190 mm high (L1 housing), the YBX5063 is only 175 mm high (LB1 housing). If your vehicle is designed for the flat version (often Ford/Opel), the taller YBX5012 will not fit.

What does DIN 50013 mean?

This is an outdated type number according to DIN standard for batteries with approx. 44-50 Ah in this size. The YBX5063 is the modern, more powerful successor for batteries that previously bore this number.

Is the battery suitable for start-stop?

No. The YBX5063 is a conventional starter battery. Vehicles with a start-stop system require an EFB battery (e.g. YBX7063 or YBX7012, depending on height).

How does the "Magic Eye" work?

The indicator on the lid shows the charge status: Green means "ready for use". Black means "recharge". White/clear indicates a low acid level or defect (check/replace battery).
