The Yuasa YBX7019 is a powerful EFB battery (Enhanced Flooded Battery) in the large L5 case from the YBX7000 Series. With a capacity of 100 Ah and a cold start current of 850 A (often also specified up to 900 A), it is designed for large luxury-class vehicles, vans, and SUVs with start-stop technology. Thanks to innovative carbon-lithium additives, it offers extremely high dynamic charge acceptance (+170%) and significantly improved cycle stability (+270%) compared to conventional wet batteries.

FAQs about the Yuasa YBX7019

Can I install this battery instead of an AGM battery?

As a rule no. If your vehicle was originally delivered with an AGM battery (e.g. 92Ah or 95Ah AGM), you should also fit an AGM battery (e.g. Yuasa YBX9019). EFB batteries are indeed better than standard batteries but they do not quite reach the performance of AGM batteries for recuperation. A "downgrade" from AGM to EFB can lead to error messages.

Can I use this battery instead of a normal wet-cell battery (e.g. YBX5019)?

Yes, absolutely. This is an excellent upgrade. If you have a vehicle without start-stop, but the battery often runs flat (e.g. due to short journeys or parking heater), the YBX7019 offers a much longer service life and better acid circulation than the standard battery thanks to its EFB technology.

Does the battery need to be registered?

Yes, for vehicles with battery management (BMS) and a start-stop system, it is important to register the new battery so that the vehicle knows that full capacity is available again and the start-stop system is enabled.

Where is this size used?
