Yuasa EFB Start-Stop battery YBX7053 12V 45Ah 450A (YBX7000 series)
Description
Product information
The Yuasa YBX7053 is a specialised EFB battery (Enhanced Flooded Battery) from the YBX7000 Series, developed for Asian small and compact cars with start-stop technology. With a capacity of 45 Ah and a cold start current of 450 A (EN), it complies with the important JIS standard "N-55". It combines the slim B24 housing with state-of-the-art EFB technology and lithium-carbon additives to ensure the high cycle stability and fast charge acceptance required for micro-hybrid vehicles.
Highlights at a glance
- JIS format (N-55 / B24): Slim housing (approx. 129 mm wide), a perfect fit for many Japanese vehicles with start-stop system.
- Start-Stop Ready: Specially developed for the high loads caused by frequent engine shutdowns; offers approx. 270,000 start cycles.
- Thin poles (T3): Equipped with small Japanese round posts (JIS Pencil Posts), suitable for the original battery terminals of many import vehicles.
- High charge acceptance: Absorbs charge from the alternator extremely quickly (+170 %), ensuring the start-stop system remains active even in city traffic.
- Maintenance-free: The sealed tilting double lid prevents acid leakage (VDA test passed) and minimises water loss.
- OE quality: Meets the specifications for vehicles delivered ex works with an N-55 battery (e.g. Honda, Suzuki).
The specialist for Honda and Suzuki (N-55)
The YBX7053 is the correct choice for vehicles that require an "N-55" battery. This is the standard for start-stop models such as the Honda Jazz, Honda Civic (certain petrol models), Suzuki Swift or Suzuki Vitara. It also replaces older JIS types such as 46B24L or 55B24L in vehicles to be upgraded to EFB technology or which are fitted with it ex works.

FAQs about the Yuasa YBX7053
What does "N-55" mean?
N-55 is the JIS code for a start-stop EFB battery in the slim B24 housing. If your old battery says "N-55", the YBX7053 is the exact replacement. Do not install a standard battery (e.g. 46B24L) here, as this would fail very quickly in start-stop operation.
What is the difference to the YBX5053?
The YBX5053 is a standard wet-cell battery (without start-stop capability) with the same dimensions. The YBX7053 is the EFB version for start-stop.
- Car without start-stop -> YBX5053 (or upgrade to YBX7053 possible).
- Car with start-stop -> Mandatory YBX7053.
Which terminals does the battery have?
The YBX7053 has thin poles (T3). The positive pole has a diameter of approx. 14.7 mm. This is typical for Asian small cars (Honda, Suzuki, Toyota). Please check your terminals. If your vehicle has thick terminals (very rare for N-55), you will need adapter sleeves.
Do I need to register the battery?
If your vehicle has a battery management system (BMS) (e.g. Honda with start-stop), the battery sensor should be reset so that the system recognises the new battery and makes optimal use of the start-stop function.
