The Vision 6FM230DX is a cycle-proof, valve-regulated lead-acid battery (VRLA) with 12 volts nominal voltage and 230 ampere-hours capacity. It is specially designed for demanding applications with recurring charge and discharge cycles. Thanks to the AGM technology (Absorbent Glass Mat), this battery offers reliable, leak-proof and long-lasting power supply. It is the ideal solution for systems requiring high cycle stability and deep discharge, and is excellent for both cyclic and standby operation.

Robust technology for demanding environments

Thanks to the VRLA technology with AGM system the 6FM230DX is absolutely maintenance-free and leak-proof. The electrolyte is securely bound in a glass fibre fleece, enabling safe handling and operation in any position. The battery has self-closing low-pressure vent valves that ensure pressure equalisation within the cells. The housing is made of robust ABS plastic, which is also available in a flame-retardant version (UL94:V0) on request. The low self-discharge of about 3% per month enables long-term storage with high operational readiness.

What does "cycle-proof" mean?

A cycle-proof battery is specially designed to withstand a high number of charge and discharge cycles without significantly losing its capacity or service life. This distinguishes it from conventional lead-acid batteries, which are more designed for standby operation. At 25% depth of discharge, the battery can achieve up to 1400 cycles, at 50% depth of discharge it is still around 600 cycles.

How do I charge the battery correctly?

We recommend using a charger suitable for AGM batteries with a capacity of 230 Ah. Follow the charging voltages recommended by the manufacturer: for buffer charging (float operation) 13.6 V to 13.8 V and for cycle charging (boost operation) 14.4 V to 14.7 V. A charging current over 60 A can shorten the battery’s service life.

How long does the 6FM230DX battery last?

The expected service life of the battery is up to 10 years at 20°C in design life. However, the actual lifespan depends heavily on individual operating conditions, depth of discharge and ambient temperature.
