It comes from the GYZ series ("Next Generation"), which has been specially developed for the heaviest V-twin motorbikes and vehicles with extreme energy requirements. With a mighty 32 Ah capacity and a massive cold cranking current of 500 A (EN), it is the most powerful battery in this segment. It serves as a direct premium upgrade for the well-known YIX30L-BS and offers modern features such as integrated threaded terminals for easy installation.

FAQs on the Yuasa GYZ32HL

What is the difference to YIX30L-BS?

The dimensions (166 x 126 x 175 mm) are identical, but the GYZ32HL is superior in every respect.

• YIX30L-BS: 30 Ah / approx. 385-400 A cranking current / loose nuts.
• GYZ32HL (your battery): 32 Ah / 500 A cranking current / fixed threaded terminals.

The GYZ32HL is the next generation. It lasts longer, starts more strongly and is easier to fit. It fits wherever a YIX30L-BS or YTX30L-BS was fitted.

Will this battery fit my Harley?

Yes, if you ride a "Big Twin" touring machine (FLH/FLT models). The GYZ32HL replaces the original Harley battery with the part number 66010-97A / B / C. But be careful with the dimensions: For Softail or Dyna models this battery is too large (these usually require the YTX20HL).

What's special about the terminals?

Normal batteries have hollow terminals into which you have to fumble a loose nut. The GYZ series has "Flush Terminals": The thread is firmly integrated in the terminal. You can screw it in directly without a nut falling away. In addition, these terminals offer a larger contact area for better current flow.

How do I charge this beast?

As the battery is very large (32 Ah), you need a charger with enough power. A small trickle charger (0.8 A) would take forever to fully charge it. We recommend an automatic charger with at least 2.0 to 5.0 amps charging current (e.g. CTEK MXS 5.0 or Optimate 6) to charge it quickly and gently.
