This NiMH battery is the compact power source for the smaller transmitters of the Hetronic family. It has been specifically designed as a replacement for the "short" design (often referred to as "mini battery").

In contrast to the large Nova-L batteries, which have a long design, this battery is almost square. It replaces the original batteries with the part numbers 68300510 and 68300520. With 9.6 Volt and 750 mAh it delivers exactly the power required for the compact transmitter controls.

Highlights at a glance

Specific "short" design: This battery is designed for the compact battery shafts (approx. dimensions 60 x 50 x 14 mm). It does not fit holders that require the long Nova-L battery, but is the standard replacement part for the "Mini" series.
100% replacement for 68300xxx: Replaces the Hetronic original numbers 68300510, 68300520 as well as often 68300500 (if it is the NiMH version).
Modern NiMH technology: No memory effect. Unlike old NiCd cells, this battery can be recharged as needed. It is more environmentally friendly and provides stable voltage for the transmitter electronics.

Attention: It does not fit Nova-L or Nova-XL, if these must fully fill the long slot or require a higher capacity (2000 mAh)!

FAQs for the Hetronic Nova Short (68300520)

How do I know if I need the "short" or "long" battery?

This is the most important point with Hetronic!

Short (this battery): Is almost square (approx. 6 cm long). Capacity mostly 750 mAh.
Long (Nova-L): Is elongated rectangular (approx. 12 cm long, looks like two short ones together). Capacity mostly 1500–2000 mAh. Measure your old battery. If it is only approx. 6 cm long, you need this one.

Is 750 mAh not too little?

Not for the "Mini" transmitters. Since the Hetronic Mini transmitters usually don't have large colour displays or power-hungry additional functions, the 750 mAh capacity is perfectly sufficient for a normal working day. The small housing does not physically allow cells with 2000 mAh at 9.6V.

Will it fit in my Hetronic charger?

Yes. The yellow or black Hetronic chargers usually have a slot which can accommodate both short and long batteries (the long one protrudes further, the short one disappears further inside, or the slot is universal). The charging contacts are identically positioned.
