Crane replacement battery for HBC Radiomatic (BA209000 / BA209060) - 6V NiMH (FuB 9AA)
Description
Product information
This NiMH battery is the specific replacement for the somewhat rarer, compact 6-volt batteries from HBC Radiomatic. It often bears the internal designation FuB 9AA (NiMH) or replaces the older FuB 9A (NiCd).
It should not be confused with the widely used standard batteries (FuB 3A or FuB 05AA). The BA209060 is used especially in more compact handsets, which nevertheless require 6 volts voltage. With modern nickel-metal hydride technology, it offers reliable power without the memory effect of the old generation.
Highlights at a glance
- Specialist for 6V handsets: This battery is precisely designed for HBC transmitters that use the compact format but require 6 volts (in contrast to the 3.6V systems).
- Full replacement: Replaces the HBC original numbers BA209000, BA209060 and BA209061 as well as the designation FuB 9AA.
- Modern NiMH upgrade: Also replaces older NiCd batteries (BA229000 / FuB 9A). The advantage: You can recharge the battery at any time, it lasts longer and is more environmentally friendly (cadmium-free).
- Solid capacity: Depending on the installed cells, this battery usually delivers between 730 mAh and 1,500 mAh. As it is often used in handsets without large displays, this is sufficient for very long operating times.
- Compatible with chargers: Works with the original HBC chargers (e.g. QE10860, QA10860), provided these are designed for 6V.
Compatible transmitter series (extract)
This battery fits certain versions of the following transmitters (please check voltage and design!):
- Micron series: micron 4, micron 5 (6V versions)
- Eco series: eco (6V versions)
- Linus series: linus 4
- Technos series: technos 1 (old versions)
- Others: patrol (handset variants)

FAQs about the HBC BA209060 / FuB 9AA
How can I see the difference to the BA205030 (FuB 05AA)?
This is visually difficult, as the housings are almost identical.
- BA205... (FuB 05AA): Has 3.6 volts.
- BA209... (FuB 9AA): Has 6.0 volts (this battery). You must check the rating label on your old battery ("6V"). If you insert a 6V battery in a 3.6V device, the electronics could burn out!
My old battery was NiCd (BA229000). Is this NiMH compatible?
Yes. HBC has switched from NiCd to NiMH batteries. The voltage (6V) has remained the same. Your charger should charge the new battery without any problems, and you benefit from a longer lifetime.
Why does this battery sometimes have less mAh than the large blocks?
This is due to the form factor. Large sub-C cells do not fit into the compact housing of the FuB 9AA. Smaller cells (AA or similar) are usually installed. As the devices in which it is installed (e.g. eco or linus) are very efficient, the battery still easily lasts a full working day.
