Crane replacement battery for HBC Radiomatic (BA205000 / BA205030) - 3.6V NiMH
Description
Product information
This NiMH battery is the modern replacement for the compact 3.6 Volt battery packs from HBC Radiomatic. It replaces both the older NiCd versions (often known as BA225030 or FuB 05A) as well as the NiMH standard batteries (BA205000 / BA205030 / FuB 05AA).
With a capacity of nowadays mostly 2,000 mAh to 2,100 mAh (compared to the old 700–1500 mAh), this battery offers a tremendous increase in run time for your crane remote. It is primarily used in the more compact HBC handsets of the micron, linus and eco series.
Highlights at a glance
- More stamina: Thanks to high-quality NiMH cells (mostly AA size inside), this battery offers significantly more capacity than the old originals. Your handset will easily last long working shifts.
- Full compatibility (3.6V): Identical replacement for HBC original numbers BA205000, BA205030, BA225030 as well as the designations FuB 05AA (NiMH) and FuB 05A (NiCd).
- Environmentally friendly technology: No more toxic cadmium. The NiMH battery has no memory effect and can be recharged flexibly at any time.
- HBC fit: Features the typical orange (or black) housing with the two base contacts and snaps securely into the battery compartment.
- Charging compatibility: Works perfectly with the original HBC chargers (e.g. QE10860, QA10860), provided these are designed for 3.6V or have automatic voltage detection.
Compatible transmitter series (excerpt)
This 3.6V battery fits into many handsets that do not require the large 6V block:
- Micron series: micron 4, micron 5, micron 6, micron 7 (please check voltage, some use 6V!)
- Eco series: eco
- Linus series: linus 4, linus 6
- Spectrum series: spectrum A (some versions), spectrum 1 (with 3.6V conversion)
- Technos series: technos 1, technos 2 (with 3.6V version)
- Vector series: vector pro

FAQs for HBC BA205030 / FuB 05AA
Attention: 3.6 Volt or 6 Volt?
This is the most important distinction at HBC!
- This battery (BA205030) has 3.6 Volt (3 cells).
- The larger sibling (BA203060) has 6.0 Volt (5 cells). They look almost the same visually, but the 6V battery is somewhat thicker/heavier. Always check the type plate of your old battery or the battery compartment. A 6V battery often does not fit mechanically in a 3.6V bay and vice versa.
My old battery only has 700 mAh. Can I use the 2000 mAh battery?
Yes, that is a huge advantage. The old NiCd batteries had less capacity due to technical reasons. The new NiMH battery lasts almost three times as long at the same voltage (3.6V).
What do the colours of the batteries mean (Orange vs. Black)?
In the past, orange was often for standard batteries and black for ex-protected areas (ATEX) or newer NiMH series. In replacement batteries, the colour is usually orange (standard) or black, but often has no technical relevance regarding explosion protection. Important: If you work in explosion-protected areas (ATEX), you may use only certified original batteries with corresponding ex-marking, not standard replicas!
