The luminaire combines an elegant, functional design with durable LED technology and a comprehensive pictogram set to ensure maximum flexibility and safety in professional, centrally powered building projects.
Highlights at a glance
- Central battery compatible: Developed for direct connection to 230V AC/DC central and group battery systems (ZB / CPS).
- Wall bracket mounting: Ideal for installation visible from both sides in long corridors, passages and large rooms.
- Clear visibility: Ensures a standard-compliant recognition distance of 27 metres according to EN 1838.
- Flexible pictogram set: A set of standard pictograms is included in the scope of delivery.
- Durable LED technology: High efficiency, long service life and minimal maintenance effort.
Clear marking of escape routes
This escape sign luminaire is the ideal solution for compliant safety signage in a wide variety of buildings. The wall bracket mounting, where the luminaire is perpendicular to the wall, ensures excellent visibility from both directions in corridors and passageways. It is perfectly suited for use in office buildings, retail outlets, schools, hospitals and industrial halls equipped with a central emergency power system.
Advanced and efficient LED technology
At the heart of the luminaire is a modern LED module that ensures bright and absolutely uniform illumination of the pictogram. Compared to older fluorescent lamps, LED technology offers a significantly longer lifetime of up to 50,000 hours and instant full brightness in an emergency. This significantly reduces operating costs and maintenance effort over the entire service life of the building.
Developed for easy installation and central maintenance
The luminaire is designed for quick and error-free installation by a professional. Connection to the central battery system is via an easily accessible terminal. In a centralised system, each individual luminaire is permanently monitored via the supply line. Any failure of the light source is immediately detected and reported by the central control unit, which makes maintenance much easier compared to single-battery luminaires and increases operational reliability.

FAQs on the escape sign luminaire
What does "wall bracket mounting" mean?
With this type of installation, the luminaire is attached vertically to the wall with a bracket (a holder). As a result, the pictogram panel projects into the room and is clearly visible from both sides, which is ideal for long corridors.
What is the advantage of a central battery system ("ZB")?
Central battery systems (CPS) simplify the maintenance and monitoring of the entire emergency lighting system. All batteries are located in a central location, and the regular function tests can be automated and centrally logged. In large buildings, this is much more efficient than maintaining hundreds of individual batteries in the luminaires themselves.
What does "recognition distance 27m" mean?
The recognition distance is the maximum distance from which an escape sign can still be clearly recognised and read as such. It is determined by the height of the pictogram and is specified in the EN 1838 standard. A recognition distance of 27 metres is a common standard value for many areas of application.
Can the luminaire be operated in continuous and standby mode?
Yes. The switching mode (permanent operation/DS or standby operation/BS) for the escape sign luminaire is defined centrally in the emergency power system for the respective circuit and can be reprogrammed if necessary. According to most building regulations, escape sign luminaires must be operated in permanent operation.
