Batterytester Smart adapter for Van Raam, Utopia Velo & Silent Elektro

Description

Product information

This specialised "Plug & Play" Smart Adapter is the professional interface for the diagnosis of e-bike batteries of the "Silent" drive system. This system is mainly used for special bikes from Van Raam (e.g. tricycles, therapy bikes) and high-quality touring bikes from Utopia Velo. As these batteries (often "Cube" batteries) have intelligent communication, they require an activation signal to release the current flow for testing purposes. The adapter establishes this connection and enables precise capacity measurement.

Highlights at a glance

  • Specific compatibility: Customised for the "Silent Elektro" drive system (36V), which is installed in bicycles from Van Raam (e.g. Easy Rider, Fun2Go) and Utopia Velo.
  • BMS activation: Simulates the communication of the e-bike to wake up the battery management system (BMS) from sleep mode and close the main contacts.
  • Plug & Play: Simple and safe connection directly to the battery – the adapter automatically takes over the necessary signal transmission.
  • Professional diagnosis: Indispensable for medical supply stores, rehabilitation technicians and specialised bicycle dealers to ensure the reliability of batteries in therapy bikes.
  • Robust quality: High-quality cables and durable connectors, designed for regular use in service workshops.
  • Safe operation: Prevents incorrect measurements and protects the sensitive electronics of the battery through correct pin assignment and signalling.

Precise analysis for the Silent system

Batteries of the Silent Elektro system (often recognisable by their cube shape or position in the luggage carrier on tricycles) are safety-optimised. When removed, the contacts are de-energised. This smart adapter intelligently bridges this safety function. It allows your battery tester to simulate a realistic load in order to determine whether the battery still offers the necessary range for the often critical use in the rehabilitation and mobility sector.

Standard for specialised bike service

Reliability is the top priority, especially for therapy bikes and e-bikes for people with disabilities. With this adapter, Van Raam and Utopia Velo dealers can ensure that used or older batteries still meet the requirements and provide customers with well-founded service reports.

FAQs about the adapter for Van Raam / Utopia

Does the adapter work for all Van Raam bikes?

The adapter is designed for the electric Silent System (Silent Elektro), which is used on most modern Van Raam e-bikes (Li-Ion, 36V). Older models with other motors or lead batteries may not require this special adapter or may use other connections.

Can I use it to test Utopia Velo batteries?

Yes, provided the Utopia bike is equipped with the Silent electric drive (which is the case with many Utopia E-bike models). Check in advance whether the charging plug matches the adapter.

Can I measure the voltage without an adapter?

No. The batteries of the Silent system switch to "sleep mode" when they are not in the bike or are not being charged. A multimeter shows 0V at the contacts. The adapter is absolutely necessary to activate the voltage.

Is the adapter also suitable for charging?

This adapter is primarily intended as a diagnostic tool for the discharging process on the test device. For safety reasons and to ensure correct cell balancing, the batteries should always be charged using the manufacturer's original charger.
