Batterytester Smart adapter for Stromer ST1 36V
Description
Product information
This specialised Smart Adapter is the professional connection solution for the diagnosis of e-bike batteries of the classic Stromer ST1 (36V). The legendary Stromer S-Pedelecs (models up to approx. year of manufacture 2017) use powerful 36V batteries (often known by their colours such as purple, gold, etc.) with a magnetic Rosenberger connector (EnergyBus standard). This adapter establishes the secure connection between your battery tester and the battery, manages the necessary signal transmission and thus enables precise measurement of the residual capacity and state of health (SoH).
Highlights at a glance
- Specific compatibility: Customised for the 36V batteries of the classic Stromer ST1 series (not suitable for the new 48V models from 2019).
- EnergyBus / Rosenberger: Equipped with the special magnetic connector, which guarantees self-aligning, wear-free and reverse polarity protected contacting.
- BMS activation: Simulates the communication of the Stromer system to prompt the battery management (BMS) to release the discharge current.
- Professional diagnosis: Indispensable for Stromer dealers to reliably assess the condition of used batteries in these high-priced S-Pedelecs.
- Plug & Play: Easy handling – the magnetic connector connects almost by itself, the tester recognises the battery automatically.
- Robust workshop quality: High-quality cables and strain reliefs ensure durability in daily service operation.
Precise analysis for Stromer premium batteries
Stromer batteries are among the most powerful on the market. As they are often used in S-Pedelecs (up to 45 km/h), they are exposed to high loads. A simple voltage test is not sufficient here. This Smart Adapter enables your test device to simulate a realistic riding load. In this way, you can determine whether the battery still delivers full power for high speeds or whether the internal resistance has become too high due to ageing.
Standard for the S-Pedelec service
As Stromer ST1 models are very durable and sought-after on the used market, battery diagnostics are a key factor in retaining value. With this adapter, workshops can produce well-founded service reports and advise customers professionally.

FAQs about the Smart Adapter for Stromer ST1
Does the adapter also fit the new Stromer ST1 (from 2019) or ST2/ST3?
No. The classic Stromer ST1 models (V1) ran on 36V. All newer models (new ST1, ST2, ST3, ST5) are based on a 48V system with a different design and connector assignment. This adapter is exclusively for the 36V generation.
Does the adapter also work for other batteries with Rosenberger plugs?
The Rosenberger connector (EnergyBus) is also used by other brands (e.g. GoSwissDrive, Brose/BMZ). As the pin assignment for data communication may vary, this adapter is specifically optimised for the Stromer ST1 protocol. The appropriate adapters should be used for other systems.
Can I measure the battery without an adapter?
No. The magnetic connection is de-energised in idle state to prevent short circuits from adhering metal parts. Without the adapter, which sends the release signal, no voltage can be measured at the contacts.
Can I charge via the adapter?
The adapter is designed for the discharge process (diagnosis) on the test device. Charging should always be carried out with the original Stromer charger, as temperature and balancing are also monitored.
