Is this adapter identical to the "Panasonic Next Generation" adapter?

No. Panasonic has different systems. "Next Generation" (often down tube battery, but not fully integrated) and "SIB" (Smart Integrated Battery, fully integrated) use different housings and connectors. This adapter (AT00098) is specially designed for the SIB-Series.

Can I also use it to charge the battery?

The adapter is primarily designed for connection to the test device for discharging (diagnosis). Charging should always be carried out with the original Panasonic/Flyer charger in order to correctly operate the complex protective circuits of the SIB battery.

Can I measure the voltage with a multimeter?

No. Like almost all modern Panasonic batteries, the SIB switches to "deep sleep" as soon as it leaves the wheel. There is 0V at the contacts. No measurement is possible without the Smart Adapter, which simulates communication.

For which Flyer models does it fit?
