Which brands does the adapter fit?

The Impulse drive is a product of Derby Cycle. The adapter therefore primarily fits e-bikes of the brands Kalkhoff, Raleigh, Rixe, Univega, Gazelle (models with Impulse motor) and Focus (models with Impulse motor).

Can I test Impulse Evo batteries with it?

The Impulse system has developed various connector types. The classic Impulse 1 & 2 batteries (seat tube) use a bent plug contact. Impulse Evo often uses a magnetic Rosenberger connector. Please check whether the adapter connector is mechanically compatible with your battery. There are often combination adapters or specific cables for Evo.

Can I measure the voltage without an adapter?

No. Impulse batteries completely switch off the output when not installed in the bike. A multimeter shows 0V. Without the Smart Adapter that activates the system, diagnosis is not possible.

Is the adapter also for the old 26V Panasonic batteries in Kalkhoff bikes?

No. Kalkhoff previously installed Panasonic drives (26V) before the Impulse system (36V) was introduced. For the old Panasonic batteries, you require the "Smart Adapter for Panasonic Standard". This adapter here is only for the newer Impulse system.
