What voltage and currents apply to the 6-module tower?
A tower with six modules reaches a nominal voltage of 307.2 V (6 × 51.2 V at 100 Ah). The permissible continuous current is 50 A per tower, and up to 150 A is possible for 10 seconds for short periods.
How far can the system be expanded overall?
The system is designed for maximum flexibility. Six modules per tower are possible, corresponding to 30.7 kWh. By connecting up to six towers in parallel, a total capacity of around 184 kWh can be realised.
Which hybrid inverters is the 30 kWh tower compatible with?
The storage system is officially approved for Deye hybrid inverters of the low-voltage series . The combination is factory-coordinated, and plug-&-play operation is possible without further configuration. Matching with the compatibility list is recommended. Deye storage systems are only compatible with Deye inverters.
Is outdoor installation of the tower permitted?
Yes, thanks to the IP65 enclosure, the system is fully protected against dust and water jets. The permissible temperature range is between –20 °C and +55 °C, with humidity of up to 95 %. The prerequisite is a weather-protected location with free air circulation.
Does the system require active cooling?
No, the storage system operates without a fan using passive convection. The manual merely specifies a minimum distance of 20 cm behind the enclosure to ensure sufficient heat dissipation.

System composition
- This product is a set and consists of seven separate main components which together form a 30.72 kWh tower system.
Component 1: Deye AI-W5.1-B-BMS (control unit & base)
- The central control unit (BMS cluster) that manages the entire system. This unit forms the base of the battery tower.
Component 2 to 7: Six Deye AI-W5.1-BATT battery modules (5.12 kWh each)
- Six pure battery modules, each with 5.12 kWh, which are stacked onto the BMS unit and on top of one another.
1 x set of battery connection cables (plus & minus)
- A pair of high-performance cables for connecting the BMS unit to an external hybrid inverter.
1 x communication cable (CAN/RS485)
- A data cable for communication between the BMS and the inverter.
5 x connecting bridge / parallel connection cable
- Short, robust cables or fixed bridges to connect the six battery modules to one another.
1 x earthing cable
- A protective conductor cable for the compliant earthing of the BMS unit.
