Technical performance

The system achieves a rated AC power output of 12,000 watts and a maximum PV input power of 24,000 watts. Two MPPT trackers ensure optimum energy yields for different roof orientations. The MPPT voltage range is between 200 and 650 volts, with a maximum PV input current of 48 amps per tracker. Maximum efficiency is 97.6 per cent, whilst charging and discharging efficiency is 95.5 per cent.

Energy storage and expansion

The system uses three stackable LiFePO4 battery modules, each with a capacity of 5.12 kWh. These are safe, durable and maintenance-free. The battery cells offer over 6,000 charge cycles at a 90 per cent depth of discharge (DoD) and an end-of-life capacity of 70 per cent. If required, the system can be expanded to up to 30 kWh (six modules). The expansion is carried out without tools using plug-in connections.

Safety and reliability

The emergency power function, with a switchover time of just 4 milliseconds, ensures that critical household appliances continue to operate without interruption even in the event of a mains power failure. Protection class IP65 allows for installation both indoors and outdoors. The system is certified to IEC 62619, VDE 2510-50, CEI 0-21, EN 50549-1, UN 38.3 and other international standards. It is fully equipped for grid-connected, off-grid and hybrid operating modes.

The system comes with 15 kWh of usable LiFePO4 capacity, typically provided by three 5.12 kWh modules. It can be expanded modularly – up to 6 modules for a maximum of 30 kWh – and several units can be connected in parallel, allowing for a total capacity of up to 184 kWh.

What safety features does it have, and how long does the battery last?

The battery uses robust LiFePO4 cells with a built-in BMS to provide protection against overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, temperature and so on. It can withstand at least 6,000 cycles at 70% DoD and comes with a 10-year warranty.

Can the system also be installed outdoors?

Yes, the housing is IP65-certified and suitable for indoor and sheltered outdoor areas. It is designed as a stackable floor-standing unit – no wall mounting is required.

System composition

• This product is a set comprising the inverter unit and the separate low-voltage battery modules.

1 x Deye AI-W5.1-12P3-EU-B inverter unit

• The main unit is a floor-standing cabinet. It contains the 3-phase 12 kW hybrid inverter and the empty slots for the battery modules.

3 x Deye AI-W5.1-BATT low-voltage battery modules (5.12 kWh each)

• Three separate battery modules, which are inserted into and connected to the inverter unit on site to achieve a total capacity of 15.36 kWh to be achieved.

1 x smart meter / power sensor

• A smart meter with current transformers to measure household consumption.

1 x Wi-Fi data logger

• A module for integrating the system into the home Wi-Fi network for monitoring and control.
