Product information
The Anker SOLIX Solarbank Max AC is a high-performance AC-coupled home storage system with 7 kWh storage capacity, which is particularly suitable for retrofitting existing photovoltaic systems.
Instead of being connected directly to the solar modules, the Solarbank Max AC operates on the AC side of the domestic mains supply. This allows it to be flexibly combined with existing PV systems and inverters from various manufacturers.
Surplus solar energy can be stored during the day and used later in the home – for example, in the evening or at night. In addition, with the right electricity tariffs, the storage unit can be charged specifically using low-cost grid electricity and used at times when electricity prices are higher.
With a maximum AC input and output power of up to 3.5 kW, an integrated 3.68 kW off-grid output, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, long-lasting LFP battery technology and modular expandability up to 42 kWh The Solarbank Max AC offers a flexible storage solution for modern households.

7 kWh storage for greater self-consumption
Even in its basic version, the Anker SOLIX Solarbank Max AC has a storage capacity of 7 kWh.
This allows surplus solar energy generated during the day by an existing PV system to be stored and used later.
Typical applications include:
Using solar power in the evening
Covering night-time consumption from the battery storage system
Increasing self-consumption from the PV system
Reducing grid feed-in
Reduce grid consumption
Use dynamic electricity tariffs
Temporary storage of low-cost mains electricity
Particularly for existing photovoltaic systems that do not yet have battery storage, the Solarbank Max AC offers an attractive option for retrofitting storage.
Ideal for retrofitting existing PV systems
A key advantage of the Solarbank Max AC is its AC coupling.
The battery is not connected directly to the solar modulesInstead, the energy is drawn from and fed back into the existing domestic mains supply or the AC side.
This means the system can be used with many existing photovoltaic installations – regardless of the type of PV inverter installed.
This makes the Solarbank Max AC particularly attractive for owners of existing:
Roof-mounted PV systems
Micro-inverter systems
Balcony power stations
PV systems from different manufacturers
Solar systems without existing battery storage
Replacing the existing PV inverter is generally not necessary for a storage-only retrofit.
Up to 3.5 kW AC charging and discharging power
The Solarbank Max AC supports a maximum bidirectional power of up to 3.5 kW.
This allows surplus solar energy to be absorbed particularly quickly and fed back into the household as required.
The factory-set output power is initially 800 W.
For higher power ratings up to a maximum of 3,500 W The appropriate connection type, a suitable separate circuit and the applicable electrical regulations must be observed.
Depending on the installation, the power rating can then be authorised via the SOLIX App.
Modularly expandable up to 42 kWh
If energy requirements increase, the Solarbank Max AC can be flexibly expanded.
Up to five BP7000 extension batteries be connected.
This results in the following storage capacities:
Solarbank Max AC: 7 kWh
1 BP7000: 14 kWh
2 BP7000: 21 kWh
3 BP7000: 28 kWh
4 BP7000: 35 kWh
5 BP7000: 42 kWh
The system can therefore be adapted step by step to meet increasing energy requirements.
Emergency power supply with 3,680 W
The Solarbank Max AC has an integrated Off-grid output with up to 3,680 W output power.
In the event of a power cut, connected loads can be automatically supplied with power from the battery storage system.
According to the manufacturer, the switchover takes place within approximately 10 milliseconds.
This allows important loads to continue operating, including:
Fridge
Router
Lighting
Computer
Television
Domestic appliances
other connected loads within the permissible power rating
The exact emergency power supply depends on the specific installation and connection type.
LFP battery with up to 10,000 charge cycles
Anker relies on durable components for the Solarbank Max AC Lithium iron phosphate technology (LiFePO4 / LFP).
The cells used are rated for up to 10,000 charging cycles designed.
LFP technology offers, amongst other things:
High thermal stability
High cycle life
long service life
High operational safety
low degradation
cobalt-free cell chemistry
Anker provides a warranty for the Solarbank Max AC of 10-year manufacturer’s warranty .
Intelligent energy management with a smart meter
When used in conjunction with a compatible smart meter, the Solarbank Max AC can monitor the energy flow in the household and automatically adjust the charging or discharging power.
The following are supported, amongst others:
Anker SOLIX Smart Meter
Anker SOLIX Smart Meter Gen 2
Shelly Pro 3EM
Shelly 3EM
For example, surplus solar power can be automatically detected and stored in the battery.
If the household’s electricity demand increases at a later date, the stored energy can be made available again.
Ideal for dynamic electricity tariffs
In addition to storing solar power, the Solarbank Max AC can also be used to take advantage of variable or dynamic electricity tariffs.
The battery can, for example, be charged during periods when electricity prices are low.
The stored energy is then available at times when electricity prices are higher.
This opens up additional opportunities to optimise electricity costs – even independently of your own PV generation.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use
With the protection class IP66 The Solarbank Max AC is protected against dust and powerful water jets.
In addition, the system features high-level corrosion protection and an integrated battery heater.
The operating temperature range specified by the manufacturer is:
–20 °C to +55 °C
Consequently, depending on the specific installation conditions, the system is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Connection options
The Solarbank Max AC supports various connection options.
Schuko connection
A 3-metre AC cable with Schuko plug is included in the scope of delivery.
In this configuration, the factory-set output power is 800 W.
Wieland connection
Alternatively, a suitable Wieland connection may be used.
Suitable accessories are available separately.
Fixed wiring
For higher power ratings, the system can be permanently connected to a suitable circuit or the electrical installation.
The installation must be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician and in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Dimensions & Installation
The Solarbank Max AC has the following dimensions:
670 × 356 × 325 mm
The weight of the main unit is approximately:
73 kg
Due to the weight, ensure that the installation site is load-bearing and stable.
The manufacturer also supplies a suitable wall bracket or mounting materials.
