Product information
The Deye SE-F12 is a state-of-the-art low-voltage energy storage system (48V / 51.2V) designed for maximum reliability and performance in residential and commercial solar installations. With an impressive rated capacity of 11.8 kWh (approx. 230 Ah) in a single, compact housing, this storage unit offers an excellent balance of high energy density and proven safety.
Thanks to the long-lasting lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cell chemistry and the intelligent battery management system (BMS), the SE-F12 is the ideal choice for users who wish to maximise their self-sufficiency. The system’s enormous scalability also makes it a flexible and future-proof investment in your own energy independence.
Highlights at a glance
- High storage capacity (11.8 kWh): It offers a massive 230 Ah at a nominal voltage of 51.2 V in a single module, which drastically reduces the amount of cabling required compared to smaller 5 kWh blocks.
- Safe LiFePO4 technology: It uses lithium iron phosphate, the safest and most thermally stable cell chemistry on the market, with no risk of thermal runaway.
- Powerful power handling: Enables a maximum continuous discharge current of 230 A (approx. 11.5 kW output) and peak currents of up to 280 A for 10 seconds – ideal for large consumers such as heat pumps or electric car charging stations.
- Extreme scalability: The system scales with your requirements. Up to 32 units can be connected in parallel as standard (with a CAN-Bridge, up to 64 units for a storage capacity of up to 18 MWh).
- Smart monitoring: Equipped with LED status indicators as well as Bluetooth, RS485 and CAN2.0. Seamless integration in the Deye app enables precise real-time monitoring on your smartphone.
- Long service life: Certified for over 6,000 cycles (at 80 % depth of discharge / DoD), which corresponds to a service life of 15+ years with daily charging and discharging.
- Flexible installation: Certified to IP21, the housing supports both wall mounting and floor-standing (stacked) installation to make optimum use of space in the plant room.
Areas of application
The Deye SE-F12 is extremely versatile and is primarily suitable for:
- Detached houses: To maximise self-consumption and as a robust emergency power storage solution in combination with hybrid inverters.
- Commercial systems (C&I): For peak shaving and the storage of large PV yields in agricultural or commercial operations.
- Off-grid systems: The high continuous load capacity easily serves stand-alone off-grid systems with large inrush currents.
Installation & safety instructions
- Transport and handling: With a weight of 84 kg the module is extremely heavy. Be sure to plan transport into the basement or plant room with two people or suitable lifting equipment (e.g. stair climber).
- Temperature management: The storage unit operates within a wide range (-20°C to 55°C during discharge), but should be installed in a frost-free, dry room (15°C to 25°C) for maximum service life and capacity yield. Charging below 0°C is blocked by the integrated BMS for safety reasons.
- Cable sizing: To transmit the enormous maximum continuous current of 230 A without voltage losses or dangerous heat build-up, high-quality battery cables with a cross-section of at least 70 mm² (better 95 mm²) between the storage unit and busbar or inverter are essential.
- Compatibility: The system "speaks" the Deye protocol natively and works best via Plug & Play with Deye low-voltage hybrid inverters (e.g. the SUN-10K or 12K-SG04LP3 series).

FAQs on the Deye SE-F12
Can I use this battery with an inverter from another brand?
In principle, yes. The Deye SE-F12 uses standard communication protocols (CAN/RS485) and can often also be operated with compatible third-party brands. However, the correct BMS protocol on the battery must be configured manually (via software or DIP switch). There is no support for this third-party use during setup from the manufacturer or retailer. A functioning system can only be guaranteed with the Deye own brand. Please compare the compatibility list in advance.
What happens in the event of a power cut in the house?
If you combine the SE-F12 with a hybrid inverter capable of emergency power supply (such as the Deye SG04 series), the system switches to battery operation within milliseconds in the event of a grid failure. Thanks to the high discharge power (up to 11.5 kW from just one battery), you can continue to supply even large 3-phase loads in the house grid without problems.
Why do some shops list "SE-F12-C"?
The suffix "-C" generally denotes the latest model revision (often the EU version), which is equipped with an integrated LCD display on the front of the housing. This allows cell voltages and SoC to be read directly. The pure performance data compared to the standard SE-F12 are identical.
