Beltrona LED escape sign light for wall mounting (central battery)

Description

Product information

This high-quality escape sign luminaire from Beltrona has been specially developed for direct wall mounting and connection to central battery systems (CPS). It ensures a clear and compliant indication of escape and rescue routes. With a standard-compliant detection range of 27 metres, durable LED technology and a comprehensive pictogram set included, this luminaire offers maximum flexibility and safety for professional installations in centrally supplied buildings.

Highlights at a glance

  • Central battery compatible: Developed for direct connection to 230V AC/DC central and group battery systems (ZB / CPS).
  • Clear visibility: Ensures a standard-compliant detection range of 27 metres in accordance with EN 1838.
  • Optimised for wall mounting: Ideal for installation above doors, at corridor ends and in stairwells.
  • Flexible pictogram set: A set with 4 directional pictograms and a blank film are included.
  • Durable LED technology: High efficiency, long service life and minimal maintenance effort.

Clear labelling of escape routes

This escape sign luminaire is the ideal solution for compliant safety signage in a wide range of properties equipped with a central emergency power system. Direct wall mounting is the conventional installation method for marking exits or at the end of escape routes where clear directional guidance is required. It is perfectly suited for use in office buildings, retail stores, schools, hospitals and industrial halls.

Advanced and efficient LED technology

The core of the luminaire is a modern LED module that ensures bright and absolutely uniform illumination of the pictogram. Compared to older fluorescent lamps, LED technology offers a significantly longer service life of up to 50,000 hours and immediate, full brightness in an emergency. This significantly reduces operating costs and maintenance effort over the entire service life of the building.

Designed for easy installation and centralised maintenance

The luminaire is designed for rapid and fault-free installation by a professional installer. Connection to the central battery system is via an easily accessible terminal. In a central system, each individual luminaire is permanently monitored via the supply line. Any failure of the light source is immediately detected and reported by the central control unit, which significantly simplifies maintenance compared to single battery luminaires and increases operational safety.

FAQs on the escape sign luminaire

What does "ZB" or "central battery" mean?

"ZB" stands for central battery. This means this luminaire does not have its own battery, but is supplied from a central emergency power supply system (also known as CPS) in the building. This simplifies maintenance as the batteries are grouped at a single location.

What does "detection range 27m" mean?

The detection range is the maximum distance from which an escape sign can still be clearly recognised and read as such. It is determined by the height of the pictogram and is specified in standard EN 1838. A detection range of 27 metres is a common standard value for many applications.

What is the blank film used for?

The blank film (or dummy film) serves as a placeholder or can be used to cover one side of a luminaire if required. In some cases, it is also used as an indicator luminaire without a specific direction to generally mark an emergency exit.

Can the luminaire be operated in permanent and standby mode?

Yes. The switching type (permanent operation/DS or standby operation/BS) for the escape sign luminaire is set centrally in the emergency power system for the relevant circuit and can be reprogrammed if necessary. According to most building regulations, escape sign luminaires must be operated in permanent operation.

Beltrona LED emergency light for surface ceiling mounting (central battery)

This high-quality emergency luminaire from Beltrona has been specially developed for surface-mount ceiling installation and connection to central battery systems (CPS). It ensures reliable and standard-compliant emergency lighting in case of power failure. The luminaire combines a functional, robust design with modern LED technology, centralised monitoring, and optimised lenses for illuminating escape routes or anti-panic areas.Highlights at a glanceCentral battery compatible: Designed for direct connection to 230V AC/DC central and group battery systems (ZB / CPS).Simple surface mounting: Ideal for direct installation on solid ceilings or in areas without suspended ceiling construction.Centralised monitoring: Enables easy and efficient monitoring of luminaire function via the central battery system.Durable LED technology: High efficiency, long service life, and minimal maintenance.Optimised illumination: Interchangeable lenses for demand-oriented escape route or anti-panic lighting.Reliable illumination in an emergencyThis emergency luminaire is the ideal solution for regulation-compliant emergency lighting in a wide variety of properties. Surface-mounted ceiling installation is perfect for use in corridors, stairwells, offices, shops, schools, and hospitals equipped with a central emergency power system. It ensures that in an emergency, escape and rescue routes are clearly visible and panic in larger areas is avoided by sufficient illuminance.Advanced and efficient LED technologyAt the heart of the luminaire is a modern LED module that ensures high luminous efficiency with minimal energy consumption. Compared to older fluorescent lamps, LED technology offers a noticeably longer life of up to 50,000 hours and immediate, full brightness in an emergency. This greatly reduces operating costs and maintenance over the lifetime of the building.Designed for easy installation and centralised maintenanceThe luminaire is designed for fast and error-free installation by a specialist installer. Connection to the central battery system is via an easily accessible terminal. In a central system, each individual luminaire is permanently monitored via the supply line. Failure of the light source is immediately detected and reported by the central control unit, which significantly simplifies maintenance compared to individual battery luminaires and increases operational reliability. Characteristics  ModelBeltrona LED emergency luminaire (surface ceiling mount, central battery) ApplicationEscape route & anti-panic lighting Mounting typeSurface-mounted ceiling installation Connection toCentral battery systems Operating voltage24V - 230V AC/DC Power consumption (W)approx. 3.0 Luminous flux (lumen)approx. 200 Light sourceLED (integrated) Degree of protectionIP40 Dimensions (Ø x H in mm)approx. 120 x 45  FAQs about the emergency luminaireWhat is the difference between escape route lighting and anti-panic lighting? The escape route lighting uses a special lens to illuminate a long, narrow corridor, thereby clearly defining the course of the escape route. The anti-panic lighting uses a wide, rotationally symmetrical lens to evenly illuminate large, open areas (e.g. foyers, conference rooms), thereby making orientation easier and preventing panic. What is the advantage of a central battery system (“ZB”)?Central battery systems (CPS) simplify the maintenance and monitoring of the entire emergency lighting system. All batteries are located in a central place, and regular functional tests can be automated and centrally logged. In large buildings, this is much more efficient than servicing hundreds of individual batteries in each luminaire separately. Can the luminaire be operated in both continuous and standby switching?Yes. The switching mode (continuous switching/DS or standby switching/BS) for the emergency luminaire is set centrally in the emergency power system for the relevant circuit and can be reprogrammed as required. How is the luminaire monitored?Monitoring is centralised. If a light source fails or another fault occurs in the luminaire circuit, this is immediately detected by the central control unit, specifically assigned and reported as a malfunction. This allows rapid and targeted troubleshooting.
