Beltrona LED emergency light for recessed ceiling mounting

Description

Product information

This high-quality emergency luminaire from Beltrona was specially developed for discreet installation in suspended ceilings and ensures reliable and standard-compliant emergency lighting in the event of a power failure. As a self-contained single-battery luminaire with a long-life battery and automatic test function, it offers maximum flexibility during installation and low-maintenance operation. The luminaire combines an unobtrusive design with modern LED technology and optimised lenses for illuminating escape routes or anti-panic areas.

Highlights at a glance

  • Discreet recessed installation: Ideal for seamless and architecturally appealing installation in grid or plasterboard ceilings.
  • Self-contained single-battery system: Integrated, long-life battery (e.g. LiFePO4) for an emergency lighting duration of 3 hours.
  • Automatic test function: Performs regular self-tests and displays the status by means of an LED, which simplifies maintenance.
  • Optimised illumination: Interchangeable lenses for requirement-based escape route or anti-panic lighting.
  • Durable LED technology: High efficiency, long service life and minimal maintenance.

Reliable illumination in an emergency

This emergency luminaire is the ideal solution for regulation-compliant emergency lighting in a wide variety of buildings. The recessed ceiling installation is perfect for use in corridors, offices, retail premises, schools and hospitals. It ensures that escape and rescue routes are clearly visible in the event of an emergency and that panic in larger areas is avoided by means of sufficient illumination, without disturbing the overall architectural appearance.

Advanced and efficient LED technology

The heart of the luminaire is a modern LED module that ensures high luminous efficacy with minimal energy consumption. Compared to older fluorescent lamps, LED technology offers a significantly longer service life of up to 50,000 hours, higher switching resistance and immediate, full brightness in an emergency. This considerably reduces operating and maintenance costs over the entire lifetime of the building.

Developed for easy installation and minimised maintenance

The luminaire is designed for quick and error-free installation by a professional in standard ceiling cut-outs. As it is a single-battery luminaire, only a 230V mains connection is required. The automatic test function (autotest) independently checks the function of the luminaire and battery at regular intervals and indicates the status via a multi-coloured LED. This significantly reduces the manual testing effort and lowers operating costs.

FAQs about the emergency luminaire

What is the difference between escape route and anti-panic lighting?

The escape route lighting uses a special lens to illuminate a long, narrow corridor, clearly defining the course of the escape route. The anti-panic lighting uses a wide, rotationally symmetrical lens to evenly illuminate large, open spaces (e.g. foyers, conference rooms), making orientation easier and helping to prevent panic.

What is the advantage of a single-battery luminaire with autotest?

A single-battery luminaire does not require connection to a central emergency power supply and is therefore very flexible to install and ideal for retrofitting. The autotest function automates the prescribed function tests and reports faults directly on the luminaire, which greatly simplifies regular manual inspection.

Can the luminaire be operated in continuous and standby mode?

Yes, modern single-battery luminaires are generally designed for both operating modes and can often be set directly on the luminaire. In standby mode (BS), the emergency lighting is only activated in the event of a power failure. In continuous mode (DS), it illuminates permanently and can, for example, contribute to general orientation lighting.

What advantage do modern batteries such as LiFePO4 offer?

Modern lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4) offer a significantly longer service life of up to 8 years compared to older NiCd batteries, halving the maintenance intervals. They are also more environmentally friendly as they contain no toxic heavy metals.

With a standard detection range of 27 metres, durable LED technology and a comprehensive, included pictogram set, this luminaire offers maximum flexibility and safety for professional installations in almost any building project.Highlights at a glanceOptimised for wall mounting: Ideal for installation above doors, at corridor ends, and in stairwells.Clear visibility: Guarantees a standard detection range of 27 metres in accordance with EN 1838.Flexible pictogram set: A set with 4 directional pictograms and a blank film are included.Durable LED technology: High efficiency, long service life and minimal maintenance effort.High quality: Robust housing and compliance with all relevant European standards for emergency lighting.Clear marking of escape routesThis escape sign luminaire is the ideal solution for compliant safety signage in a wide variety of properties. Direct wall mounting is the classic installation method for marking exits or at the end of escape routes where a clear directional sign is required. It is perfect for use in office buildings, retail spaces, schools, hospitals and industrial halls.Advanced and efficient LED technologyThe heart of the luminaire is a modern LED module that ensures bright and absolutely uniform illumination of the pictogram. Compared to older fluorescent lamps, LED technology offers a significantly longer service life of up to 50,000 hours, higher switching resistance and immediate full brightness in an emergency. This significantly reduces operating costs and maintenance over the entire life of the building.Designed for easy installation and flexibilityThe luminaire is designed for quick and faultless installation by the professional installer. The included pictogram set can be easily applied to the acrylic panel to flexibly define the escape route direction on site. This saves the need to stock different luminaire variants and allows on-site adaptation directly on the construction site as required. Features  ModelBeltrona LED escape sign luminaire (single battery) General luminaire data ApplicationEscape route marking Mounting typeWall surface mounting Operating modeContinuous / standby mode Detection range (m)approx. 20 Light sourceLED strip (integrated) Dimensions (W x H x D in mm)approx. 260 x 180 x 45 Integrated battery TechnologyLiFePO4 Rated voltage (V)3.2 Capacity (Ah)1.5 Autonomy time (h)3  FAQs on the escape sign luminaireWhat does "detection range 27m" mean? The detection range is the maximum distance from which an escape sign can still be clearly recognised and read as such. It is determined by the height of the pictogram and is specified in the EN 1838 standard. A detection range of 27 metres is a common standard value for many areas of application. Why is a pictogram set included?A separate set offers maximum flexibility on the construction site. The final direction of the escape routes is often only clear during installation. With this set, the installer can individually adapt each luminaire to the conditions without having to carry different luminaire variants with permanently printed pictograms. What is the blank film used for?The blank film (or dummy film) serves as a placeholder or can be used to cover one side of a luminaire if required. In some cases, it is also used as a pure signal luminaire without a specific direction to generally mark an emergency exit. Can the luminaire be operated in continuous and standby mode?Yes, depending on the version, the luminaire is designed for both operating modes. With single-battery luminaires, this can often be set directly on the luminaire. For luminaires for central battery systems, the operating mode (continuous operation/DS or standby mode/BS) is set centrally in the emergency power system for the respective circuit. According to most building regulations, escape sign luminaires must be operated in continuous operation.
